New Forum Icons

Not to offend anybody or anything, but the new icons are a tad... bland, don't you think? It's also hard to tell the difference between new posts and no new posts right away...

I've made some of my own; you may use them, or not, doesn't matter to me. I'm merely emphasizing my what would be better IMO.



I'm at a loss towards what should be the popular images, however.

I used different colors for each one, to help out figuring what it is.
Yellow: No new posts
Red: New posts
Blue: Sticky
Gray: Important

I've also created them from scratch, and have not used bits and pieces from other sprites. This can make it more personal.

Just a thought; whatever you choose to do with the icons, I'll live with.

no offense to who made the new ones but sheep's are kinda better, it's easier to tell the difference between them now

I think a cross between the two would be best. I really like the gears in Habster's.

I seem to be getting a mixed response on the new icons. Half of the people love it, while half hate it.

I do like your icons better than mine TBH...

Not yet. we need some discussion of this first I'd say.

Sorry I have started more of a commotion than intended... All I asked was to have a tiny bit more difference between no new posts & new posts, and threw some other suggestions. I'm only an underling, you can just lock this thread and pretend anything I've typed doesn't exist.

Don't get me wrong, the new icons are nice looking. I just like to sprite a lot, and while I'm not expert on the matter, I thought I might share what little experience I have. Again, sorry...

I like Sheep-lord's icons, they have better contrast that Habster's. I like both but Sheep-lord's seems more practical.

General consensus tells us people like Habsters or a combination of both. We will work together to create something Habsterish and Sheepish to make the best icons eva!

I don't use either for sprite/pixel art. All the advanced features get in the way... GraphicsGale is perfect for the job. It's simple all around, easy to pick up previous colors you've used, and all sorts of other things that makes spriting a whole lot easier. Best of all, it's free, well there is a purchasable version, but the options they give don't help towards sprite/pixel art.
